THE 18th annual Smaldeel multibreed bull and ram sale took place at Stillerus near Adelaide recently with a variety of top class animals offered.
The top priced bull of the day was a Brahman sold by Francois Norval and bought by Chris Sheard of Cathcart. He sold for R50000. Jeremy Pearson was the auctioneer and the sale was hosted by Sheard Auctioneers.
Sheard Auctioneers hosted the Cloetedale Estates production sale recently at Cloetedale in Tylden, near Cathcart, owned by Wayne and Elmarie Shuman. The top priced bull sold for R42000 and was bought by Wimpie Wolfaardt of Rouxville.
In addition, the 20th annual VJ Angus production sale was held by Chris and Sally Purdon on their farm Glenfinlas, Cathcart.
On offer were 40 red Angus, 8 black Angus and 15 pregnant heifers. The top bull went for R56000 and was sold to Friedel Keyser of Eston, KZN. Brandon Leer was the auctioneer and the sale was hosted by Sheard Auctioneers.
