A KOMANI-based project, Get It Done (GID), is set to get young people geared to achieve their goals this year.
Lukhanji FM presenter Calvin Nelani is the brains behind the ambitious initiative, which serves as a tool to motivate young people to finish what they start.

The official launch of GID took place in December, with the Chris Hani district its target area.
GID plans to soon host a career exhibition for Komani high school pupils, aimed at encouraging them to feel positive and proud of their heritage.
Other plans include organising motivational speakers to visit schools, as “the problem is neither their ability nor their teachers – it is their mindset”, Nelani said.

He said during the Lukhanji Summer Festival in December, Generations actor Vuyo Dabula (known as Gadaffi in the series) made an appearance.

“I then approached Ashes to Ashes actor Ayanda Mapeyi, from Komani, and Buhle Maseko, who stars in the SABC drama Skeem Saam, and who was also at the festival, to do the same,” Nelani said.
