TWO people died and a further four people were injured in a collision between a bus and a bakkie on Hobbs Hill between Cathcart and Komani at 5.30am today.
Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the bakkie and the Johannesburg-bound bus were travelling in the same direction towards Komani when the bakkie collided with the back of the bus.
The bakkie – with six occupants – rolled with the canopy coming off. Two people, a man and a woman, died on the scene. The injured were taken to Cathcart Hospital.
No-one in the bus was hurt.
The police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
