The Department of Water and Sanitation has appealed to Eastern Cape residents to continue conserving water and use it sparingly as the country continues to experience drought, resulting in low dam levels.
In a statement today, the department indicated that the total storage of water in Eastern Cape was presently at 56.1%, compared to last year at the same time when the average dam levels were at 66.4%.
“The DWS is still encouraging residents to adhere to the water restrictions implemented by municipalities to avoid running out of water in the province.”
