Eleven people – eight men and three women – have been injured in an explosion at an East London factory in the industrial zone.
The Eastern Cape police indicated in a brief statement this morning that the explosion took place at the Feltex factory at 9.45pm last night.
The cause of the explosion is believed to be related to chemicals used in the production process at the factory.
The eleven were admitted to hospital for medical attention.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and the factory is currently closed.
