THE police have called for assistance from the public in finding a gold Polo Vivo which was hijacked in Barkly East between midnight and 1pm today.
The registration of the vehicle is CA 205575.
According to information gained from a tracking device, the vehicle is currently in the Komani area.
The Eastern Cape police said in a statement the victim was pulled over by two men who pointed a firearm at him. He was forced to accompany him as they drove towards Rhodes.
The men later dropped him off and he walked back to Barkly East to open a case. His clothing and cellular phone were taken by the men.
Elliot cluster commander Colonel Matsiliso Gezani condemned the theft and said police would work tirelessly to apprehend the suspects.
