CHDM celebrates global Hand Washing Day

Amongst its powers and functions, the Chris Hani District Municipality is responsible for municipal health services. The municipality saw it fitting to join the world in commemorating the Global Hand Washing Day, under the theme “ Our hands our future”.

Campaigns, targeting rural schools across the district, are under way. The main objective is to raise awareness and to educate pupils on the importance of a hygienic environment as a major contributor to healthy living. Good sanitation practices, the proper use of sanitation facilities and importantly, the promotion of washing of hands, are being emphasised.
