The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality (EMLM) has indicated that it has started a project to address problems related to energy service delivery in the area.
EMLM said the project was initiated due to municipal customer complaints about problems related to electricity in their homes and businesses.
“This project is the first phase of resolving all those electricity related problems. The first phase involves electricity meter audits where field workers will visit each household/dwelling/business within the municipality to inspect electricity meters.”
He said field workers would be identifiable by their reflector jackets that would show the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality Logo as well as the appointed contractor Kula Revenue Enhancement Solution Changing Tides Joint Venture (kresctjv).
“The delivered Meter Audit Notice will reflect the name of the field worker as well as the contact number of the Meter Audit Notice. Where the field worker failed to gain access to the electricity meter, the customer can call the contact number shown on the MA Notice to make an arrangement for a later visit. The second phase of the project will do maintenance of the distribution network and meters to address all challenges discovered during MA phase one,” he said.
