TODAY is international Shark Awareness Day and while this mighty predator may prove rather feared in the waters of South Africa (with recent sightings at a surfing competition in Jeffreys Bay) it is a reality that millions are killed annually for shark-fin soup and shark-tooth necklaces.
Sharks are an important link in the eco system so conservation is key.
