GALLERY CONFUSION: Many supporters were left confused at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex yesterday when the South AFrican Football Association (Safa), Enoch Mgijima Local Football Association (EMLFA) final between Madrid Football Club (FC) from Ezibeleni vs Seven Stars of Komani was abandoned.
EMLFA Vice Chairperson Naledi Dlwengu confirmed that the match was neither cancelled nor postponed.
Dlwengu said, “The match was abandoned due to one of the floodlights not lighting properly. We still have to find out from the match official (referee), because he is the one who made that decision.
“He was allowed by Safa uniform competition rules and he had consulted both captains of the teams of his decision to stop the game. The report will be handed over to Safa EMLFA secretary as promised by the match official and until than we will wait to study his report.”
