The Rep recently posted a poll and asked: What should be the main focus of schools in terms of academic achievement?
These were the responses of 19 people who voted:
Three people (15.79%) said schools should focus mainly on teaching academic subjects like maths and science.
Seven votes (36.84%) went in favour of a greater focus on children learning skills like plumbing.
The majority of respondents – 9 (47.37%) – felt schools should focus on developing children’s entrepreneurial skills.
