Very little information is currently available on extended power outages which have left a section of Westbourne and Prince Alfred, Grey and Ebden Streets in Komani without power for almost a week.
According to the latest information we have received from sources who do not want to be identified as they are not the official spokespeople of Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality, the transformer for Westbourne is still in East London and has to be brought to Komani. It is not known when this will take place or when power will be restored in this area.
Work is apparently underway on the cable fault in the Prince Alfred, Grey and Ebden Street areas but there is also no indication of when this will be restored.
The Rep has been in contact with the EMLM communications section and has sent detailed questions on email but no response has been received so far.
