The time for the examinations has again come into reality and I must hasten to wish you all the best in the forthcoming examinations. During the year you have witnessed both positive and negative developments in our country and beyond and wish to impress upon you that the current challenges facing our social, economic, political and environmental development and management require you to be empowered so that you can have requisite capacity and be creative and innovative for the next generations to benefit from you.
I urge you all to enter examination rooms with confidence and perform to the best of your abilities throughout. Your humble beginnings should not impede your dreams. I have full trust that you will perform best and prosper to grab opportunities to further your studies. Now that you’ve turned your tassels, I want to remind you that the success you seek doesn’t always come easily. You may experience a few bumps and bruises along the way. Accomplishments do not come in pretty packages, wrapped up in ribbons and bows. You earn them, step by sometimes-painful step.
As you contemplate your path after Grade 12, also remember that you are the only one who can define what success means to you and that in the end benefit yourself, family and society in general. We all take this from the words of the His Excellency, the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, Thuma Mina and it means lets all work together using optimal strengths to change our country for the better.
Make us proud.
