The raging heatwave this week has caused a strain in Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) water services. CHDM spokeswoman Thobeka Mqamelo said in the past three days, water usage had risen alarmingly resulting in severe drop of water levels in reservoirs. “We are currently alternating our pumping to relieve all areas. The municipality regrets the inconvenience and urges consumers to bear with us.”
