The Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) mayor wongama Gela confirmed the closure of the Komani Home Affairs office last week due to a suspected covid-19 case.
The mayor indicated he was contacted by the office’s local officials informing him about the closure and the reason’s thereof.
“It is said a Home Affairs employee attended a funeral in Bankies, Vaalbank where a person with the virus was also in attendance. Nineteen other people who attended the funeral have already tested positive for the virus. The Home Affairs office is being disinfected while they await the results of the employee.” Full story in The Rep on Friday
