On Saturday morning October 29, avid horticulturists – those who like grovelling around in the soil and even those who have no clue but just enjoy looking at the beauty created by others – will meet at Madeira at 8.30am for coffee and rusks. They will be given a list of gardens and a map covering the six gardens they should visit before tea, in any order they may choose.

Tea will be held at the cathedral parish of St Michael and All Angels where their annual flower festival will be in full swing, so it’s a wonderful way of indulging in a whole morning filled with flowers and gardens and not missing out on a thing.

After tea there will be another six gardens to visit before returning to Madeira for a light lunch.

There will be a variety of stalls offering all sorts of garden-related items for guests to browse through and a number of spot prizes will also be drawn before you on your way home.

Tickets are R160 each and may be obtained from Jeanne Bowes on 083-702-6611 or bowes@eci.co.za

Treat yourself (and perhaps a friend) to a delightful morning and support a good cause at the same time.
