Classic golf on course

golf-ballTHE 11th edition of the annual Komani Classic golf tournament will be played this weekend on the local course and the committee has been hard at work to ensure that the players will be well catered for, both on and off the course.
The weekend festivities begin with a get-together on Friday evening with a band, “The Fezz” in attendance to get the competitive juices flowing and some pre-tournament hype between the players. There are already 25 teams vying for the biggest tournament of the year.
There are still places in the field, with a fabulous weekend ahead for the tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
This team event competition of four players will be played as a betterball competition on Saturday and an individual Stableford competition on Sunday.
The competition entrance fee of only R450 per player includes green fees for both rounds of golf, halfway house snacks, lunch and supper, plus great entertainment. Come and support the golf club’s annual fundraising day, with profits to be ploughed back into the golf course.
The past weekend hosted a betterball Stableford competition and Bryan “Road Tripper” Kretschmer and Lawrence “The Bachelor” Moorcroft gave all a golf lesson scoring 46 betterball points to win at a canter.
They had the rare pleasure of silencing the mighty Seagull and partner with a comprehensive knobbing. Second spot went to Johnny de Villiers and Don Schnehage who squeaked a score of 42 to only win at the 18th with some dodgy “non gimme” calls.
