THERE has been much speculation about the cross which lights up on Madeira Mountain overlooking Komani at night.
The cross was erected by Aiden Edwards, who told The Rep he had wanted to do it for a long time to unify Christians and make them think of God, and to remind travellers that the Lord is with them on their journey.
“When I bought the farm some time ago I thought it would be an ideal spot to put it as it could be seen from all over town,” he said.
The cross is about 25m high and 10m wide and is electrically powered.
