LOVES Kids of Komani writes: The appeal by Child Welfare for temporary foster homes for children as featured in The Rep last week (“Dire need of Komani foster homes” December 2) shows the great need of our children.
Another example of this is the children, some of them as young as five, who are begging outside McDonalds in Komani.
These children are dirty and neglected and it’s a crying shame that children of this age are already on the streets, trying to find food.
They are lost if they are not returned to homes and the mainstream education system shortly. They will be preyed upon by unscrupulous and immoral people.
The work of Child Welfare is also not easy and depends on the care and empathy of others living in Komani.
It is hoped that a solution will be found for these problems and the children taken off the street.
