Two suspects held for Stutterheim theft

STUTTERHEIM detectives have arrested two suspects, aged 29 and 40, for possession of stolen property and housebreaking and theft at Kubusie.

The suspects were taken into custody last night.

The arrest follows on information supplied to the police about goods, believed to have been stolen from the Stutterheim correctional services stores, on January 16 and 17.

Police spokesman Captain Siphokazi Mawisa said police recovered goods to the value of R10 000 during a subsequent search. Petrol stolen from the stores were believed to have been used.

 

The suspects appeared in the Stutterheim Magistrate Court today with the 40-year-old man released on warning and the 29-year-old remanded in custody.

They will appear again on February 1.
