A TEAM of police members recovered stolen goods valued at R10 000 and arrested a suspect in Khayelitsha in Mlungisi last Thursday.
Resident Siyanda Mangcu was away in Cofimvaba and when he returned on Thursday, he said he found there had been a break-in and goods stolen.

“I was distraught and angry,” Mangcu told the Rep in an interview this week. He immediately went to the police station to open a case.

Stolen goods included cutlery, clothing, a television set and a DVD player.

Mangcu said he was most grateful to the police for finding the goods, the bulk of which had been recovered on Friday.

The suspect apparently lives near Mangcu’s home.

“I am very grateful and thankful to the police of Mlungisi for helping me and being there during this unfortunate ordeal.”

Acting police spokesman colonel Gcinikhaya Taleni confirmed the incident and praised the police members involved in the recovery.
