Bonkolo dam level still critically low

THE Bonkolo Dam in the Komani district remains at a low 22% despite recent rains in the district.

Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) spokeswoman Thobeka Mqamelo said today that it was of great concern that the dam level had not yet shown any significant improvement.

The Waterdown Dam, currently the main source of water for the Komani area, is at 77%.

Dam levels in the Elliot area have shown significant improvement.

Other dam levels in the Chris Hani district are: Boesmankrantz 32,4%; Oxkraal 29,8%; Macubeni 100%; Xonxa 101%; Lubisi 45,9%; Doornrivier 59,1%; Ncora 84,9% and Tsojana 96,6%.
