Peddie police gun shock

A large number of police firearms has been stolen from the Peddie police station, which falls within the Grahamstown cluster.

The firearms, which include nine mm pistols and R5 rifles, were reported missing yesterday after an inspection at the station.

Current indications are that the firearms were stolen during a break-in into the storeroom. Eastern Cape police spokesman Brigadier Marinda Mills has indicated that investigators were on the scene and that further details would be released soon.
