THE Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) council adopted draft municipal health services by-laws and a resultant process of public participation for input and comments by the relevant stakeholders during an ordinary council meeting on Wednesday.
The public participation process will be preceded by the presentation of the by-laws to the health and community services (HCS) standing committee members on April 12 and led by mayoral committee member responsible, Noncedo September Caba.
Engcobo Local Municipality (ELM) will be visited on May 3, Intsika Yethu on May 4 and Sakhisizwe on May 16, Emalahleni on May 18, Inxuba Yethemba on May 23 and Enoch Mgijima LM (EMLM) on May 25.
On May 26, the draft by-laws will be placed in all strategic areas in the district with the help of the communications unit.
This process will be followed by stakeholder engagement sessions in Engcobo on May 30, Intsika Yethu on May 31 and Sakhisizwe on June 6, Emalahleni will follow on June 8, Inxuba Yethemba on June 13 and finally EMLM on June 15.
The presentation of the by-laws to the business sector will be at the Queens Casino and Hotel on June 20.
