THE MATRIX hockey team silenced Destruction Boys by 11 – 1 in their fixture during the
Ward 22 Sport Forum Indoor Men’s Hockey League over the finals.The semi finals took place at the Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Complex on Saturday.Last year’s defending champions Popcorn Tigers had a tight game against Young Ones claiming a 6 -4 victory.

In the women’s league, Suicide lost their match by 1 – 4 to Dynamics.
The finals will take place tomorrow with Matrix to face Popcorn Tigers and Dynamics will compete against Tiger Girls at Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Complex.
Ward 22 sport and community forum league founder and referee Rowen Blignaut said, “I hope history will no repeat itself for the men’s final as Matrix will want to take revenge for last year. Matrix was leading in the game and Popcorn Tigers drew in the last minute. In the over time Matrix led again and Popcorn Tigers drew again. The game proceeded to a penalty shoot out which was won by Popcorn Tigers.”
He said the defending champions in the women’s league were Scoregasm and that he expected the finals to be tight.
His objectives for starting the hockey league was to foster social cohesion amd to promote and develop sport by creating regular participation opportunities for the teams.
