THE Mlungisi and Victoria Park, Aloevale and New Rest areas are experiencing their third successive power outage in two weeks.
Two weeks ago, the power supply in the area was interrupted from Thursday, April 6 to Saturday, April 8. (“Residents frazzled over days-long power cut” The Rep, April 14).
Yesterday, the power supply was reported to have been interrupted for about two hours in various sections of Mlungisi and the VAN-area.
In the latest power cut, the electricity went off at about 3am today.
Enoch Mgijima Municipality spokespeople Fundile Feketshane and Gcobani Msindwana could not be reached for comment, but another source told The Rep that a transformer in the area was giving problems. Electricians were working on it and power should be restored at about 1pm today.
