NEXT Saturday, May 27, will mark the start of National Child Protection Week in South Africa.
The week ends on June 2, with the aim to mobilise society to ensure the care and protection of South Africa’s children.
The week also aims to raise awareness of the rights of children as enshrined in the Childen’s Act of 2005.
The campaign, which began in 1997, is led by the Social Development Ministry.
The Rep will be collecting children’s clothing and toys as part of our ongoing drive to assist the needy in the Komani area. If you have any clothing from children – from babies to teens – or toys and books, please drop it off at 24 Prince Alfred Street in Komani and we will assist in sharing it with welffare organisations which help children.
