Several shops have been looted in Ezibeleni during a service delivery protest.
The Rep reporter Bhongo Jacob reports that the atmosphere in Ezibeleni was tense tonight with several residents saying it was going to be a night without sleep.
Spaza shop owners in Zone 3 were clearing up the remains of stock looted from the shelves. Some had lost their cash as well while they said they would be too scared to sleep tonight after threats of further looting.
Several shops were closed in certain parts of Ezibeleni while tyres continued to burn in the streets.
The police are continuing to monitor the situation.
Ezibeleni residents are protesting frequent power cuts as well as calling for improved service delivery.
