THE Komani family of Jade Veldman, 3, who was found murdered near her Second Creek home in Parkside in East London, is heading to the city for her funeral.
Jade’s grandmother, who lives in Komani but who asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, confirmed that the family was on their way to bury the little girl, whose body was found dumped only metres from her home over the weekend. She was found floating in a stream in second creek.
Jade had been playing with other children outside her home on Friday afternoon and was reported missing at about 5pm.

Her father, Ricardo Veldman, speaking to the Daily Dispatch earlier this week, said the family was devastated by the child’s death.
It could not be confirmed whether an arrest had been made.
“My son, Jade’s father, is distraught – Jade was so special. We’re just trying to get through it at the moment. You can’t involve yourself in Satan’s things – we’re leaving it all in God’s hands,” Jade’s gran said earlier today.
She thanked the community of Komani for their support over the past days. Jade will be laid to rest in East London on Saturday.
