Komani residents reach out to Knysna fire victims

THE people of Komani continue to come forward with donations of clothing, blankets and food to assist the people of fire-ravaged Knysna.

Today’s news reports have indicated that seven people died and 439 houses were destroyed as fire, fuelled by strong winds, destroyed a section of the town last week. Areas near Port Elizabeth have also been affected.

KwaMajuba last week offered to be a dropping point for collections. Since then, donations have flooded in. The Rep visited KwaMajuba on Sunday and found a growing pile of donations being added to as more people arrived with goods ranging from knitted beanies to curtains and linen.

A few bakkieloads have already been collected. The drive continues.

If your business is a dropping point, please let The Rep know on (045) 8394040 so we can share the information on facebook.
