Think positive, DJ tells the youth

DJ Master of Komani was taking a walk with his friends in the Central Business District on a fine Saturday afternoon when The Rep caught up with him.

Master, whose real name is Yamkela Pohlwana told The Rep he had taken time off his deejaying to focus on his rugby.

The 19-year-old former Hexagon High School Pupil plays for Old Collegians.

He said the youth needed to celebrate the month of June by being positive.

“This is the month in which we are reminded of how young people in 1976 fought for the quality of life we are enjoying today. As young people we can participate in many activities like sports and try to stay healthy and fit and not be tempted by the challenges outside.”

”The youth of today is basically fighting for free education to make our society better – for instance the fees must fall campaign aims at helping students who are financially disadvantaged.”

He called on local musicians to make positive music.

“ Musicians should be sending out positive messages and about how to never give up on one’s dreams.”
