THE Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has indicated that the problem of ripple switches which were not switching back on in various areas of Komani was due to overloading.
Spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said the overload was due to the use of heaters and air conditioning unit due to the extreme cold experienced at times.
“The ripple system is trying to send out a signal to switch on relays but is unsuccessful due to people overloading the electrical network.
He said the EMLM would only look at the possibility of loadshedding in the areas where the ripples were not coming back on if the public did not co-operate.
