KOMANI constituency leader and social development MEC Nancy Sihlwayi said young people should not feel government is ignoring them and that the soccer tournament organized by the local constituency office is to give young people an opportunity to excel in sport, writes Zolile Menzelwa.

Speaking to The Rep at the Dumpy Adams Stadium recently, Sihlwayi said 17 wards had taken part in the tourney in Mlungisi.
“This will help identify talent and to nurture it. We want young people to move away from thoughts of inhumanity. Next June we will call on all constituency offices in the Chris Hani region to work together on a similar tournament.”
Sihlwayi said the fragility of family life were contributing to the high incidence of drug abuse and rape.
“There is a lack of parenting. We grew up in poverty but we did not turn out to be brutal people. There are issues of concern and we need to do fact-finding so that government can find solutions to these issues.”
