
IT was with sadness that The Rep heard of the passing of renowned Komani businessman and former town councillor Edric Russell in Cape Town yesterday.
Edric, of the well-known undertakers Russell and Son, died in Cape Town after a brief illness.
He was loved by many in Komani and was unwavering in his support for the town, area and community, serving on various local government structures. Most recently, he was involved in the Queenstown Residents and Ratepayers’ Association and continued to fight for the development of Komani.
A committed Rotarian, he was involved in the distribution of wheelchairs to many needy people in the community over the years and was involved in various projects aimed at boosting the welfare of locals.
