EC dam levels continue to drop

DAM levels in the Eastern Cape continue to drop as the drought persists.

 

According to the latest report from the Department of Water Affairs, the Waterdown Dam, currently serving as the Enoch Mgijima area’s main source of water, is at 61.3%, compared to 93.4% last year at the same time.

Other dam levels are: Xonxa Dam (from where a pipeline is being built to Komani) 97,5% compared to 96.2% last year, Wriggleswade Dam (near Stutterheim)  79,7% compared to 93.4% last year and Kommandodrift Dam, which is fed by the Tarka River, at 42.9% ompared to 58.3% last year.  – Rep reporter
