The Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) has warned that the main pipeline supplying raw water from Waterdown Dam to Komani is leaking heavily.
In a statement from CHDM tonight, it was indicated that technicians were attending to it.
The leak was expected to affect the water supply in some areas tonight and in the area for the most part of tomorrow.
The pumping of water will be stopped at 9am tomorrow to allow the pipe to clear, a processs expected to take about three hours.
Repairs will resume after the pipe has cleared.
CHDM has apologised to all consumers and has requested that water be used sparingly.
