The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has apologised for the lengthy power outage in Grey Street in Komani.
The power has been off since Monday just before 4pm.
In a brief statement today, the municipality indicated that the outage was due to a faulty cable related to roadworks in Griffiths Street.
It is estimated that the electricity will be restored around midnight. For more information residents are asked to contact the EMLM technical services department on (045) 807 6000.
