OVER the past few months, The Rep has been reporting on a growing number of stray dogs in the area.
We asked you, via a poll on the website www.therep.co.za, what should be done to address this problem.
Six out of 17 respondents said an integrated approach involving the SPCA, local veterinarians and local government structures in finding lasting solutions should be pursued, while six people said the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality should be pressurised to implement by-laws which would restrict the number of dogs per household.
Five people thought that the dogs should be rounded up and neutered before suitable homes were sought.
