A head-on collision between two vehicles has claimed the lives of three people on the R72.
Police spokesman Captain Andre Beetge said a black Mercedes Benz and a white Audi collided shortly after 9am at the Nanaga intersection.
Three people – the female driver of the Audi and a woman and a man in the Mercedes – died on the scene. A man and a women were trapped with serious injuries in the Mercedes and were extracted by emergency staff before being taken to hospital.
