LET IT RAIN: As rain started falling in Komani today, residents looked to the sky in gratitude.
Water Affairs Department spokesman Sputnik Ratau in a statement earlier today said, the Eastern Cape had not experienced any significant rainfalls for weeks at the beginning of Spring.
“The average dam levels of the Eastern Cape are sitting at 55.0% compared to 64.1% at this time of the year in 2016.”
It might have taken a while, but Komani is finally experiencing a day of rain today following showers on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. It is hoped that the rains, said to be falling elsewhere in the province as well, will make a contribution to the dams Picture: SIMTEMBILE MGIDI
