The Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs have reported damage as a result of heavy rain in some parts of the Eastern Cape.
The affected areas include Raymond Mhlaba Local Municipality where minor cracks to some RDP houses were reported.
Spokesman Mamkeli Ngam said district and provincial teams were on the ground to assess and verify the extent of the damage including in the Mbashe Municipal area.
In Sterkspruit and on Lady Grey farms and villages, more than 500 sheep have died due to rain and cold weather.
Ngam warned that cold weather was expected on Monday with snow being forecast for the Joe Gqabi area. The cold front is expected to start moving in on Sunday afternoon. No rain is expected over the weekend.
