Archbishop celebrates his birthday

Former secretary of the South African Council of Churches, Nobel Peace Prize winner and first Black Archbishop of the Church of the Province of Southern Africa in Cape Town, Archbishop Mpilo Desmond Tutu, is celebrating his 86th birthday today.

Tutu is best known for his role as chair of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and for his belief in the possibility of ultimate racial harmony in the country.
