THE Tamboekie Festival in Komani kicked off with a bang on Thursday night, playing host to motivational speaker Alison Botha (left).
Alison was attacked and raped by two men in Noordhoek, Port Elizabeth, in 1994. The men slit her throat, but she managed to find help. Her survival, against all odds, have inspired many people. Two men, Theuns Kruger and Frans du Toit, were convicted of the crime.
She has since written a book ‘I have Life’ and travels far and wide to share her message of life, hope and courage.
