The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is working with its stakeholders to convince the government and health authorities to recognise cancer as a priority disease. This is due to the escalating number of people in South Africa who are getting diagnosed with the illness. The organisation believes its important to increase the budget allocated to lowering the national cancer burden and to train more cancer specialists. This will in turn lead to all patients receiving equal access to quality treatment and care.
