We remember you: Bantu Stephen Biko was born on December 18 – 1946, he was raised in a poor Xhosa family and is a son of the Eastern Cape.
Biko was anti-apartheid activist and died on September 12 – 1977 in a prison cell in Pretoria.
According to overcomingapartheid website, when the South African government the following day announced Biko’s death, the news sparked international and national protest.
