KATE Webster of Komani has been involved with the rehabilitation of vultures in the Eastern Cape for several years.
She is currently assisting in rehabilitating vultures including a four-year-old ill female found in the Barkly East area.
Webster said she was taken to a vet, Dr Johan Joubert who rehydrated her. She is presently building up body weight pending release.
The other birds sustained injuries due to Eskom power lines and may not fly again.
Webster said a need also existed to look into the effect of the wind farms in the province on vultures as some had died as a result.
