A Christmas meal without going deep into the pocket

Five-star Arabela and Hotel chef Thandolwethu Mhlokomfana from Whittlesea said the pressure to spend a fortune at Christmas grows every year and if one has a flock of expectant guests knocking at the door it is easy to get overwhelmed with the high recipe expenses.

He believes sticking to a traditional Christmas celebration of home made classic food accompanied by seasonal treats does not have to send a person into the red.

“Stick to Christmas traditional foods, twist the recipes to stick within the budget. Use the left overs to create new dishes every day of the festive season, that will give your family something to look forward to and save you money.”
