DID you know that there were apparently two reported sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in Komani in 1972 – and a few others later in the 70s.
The late Ted Holliday reported in his book “Queenstown 1824-1994” that on July 3, a UFO was allegedly seen in the night sky south of town. The next day a report was also received from nearby Fort Beaufort. On July 18, a UFO was reported above Longhill in the direction of Hangklip.
In 1973, the Kruger family reported a bright light shining through their window of their Berry Street home in the early morning hours. They found burn marks on the lawn the next day which a Johannesburg expert later indicated may have been as a result of a UFO landing.
Further sightings were reported in 1975.
