Ten farm workers have survived a horror crash which claimed the lives of four others on the R72 near the Kidds Beach turnoff near East London earlier this evening.
The ten survivors have been rushed to hospitals in the East London area.
Health Department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said paramedics on the scene had confirmed the deaths. Some of those hurt had sustained minor injuries while others had been seriously injured.
The workers had been on bakkies which had collided head-on.
Kupelo said the cause of the accident was not clear.
