GOOD rains have fallen in Komani although more seems to have fallen in the town than in the district.
Rooirand farmer Dos Landman said “Water is everything – we need it to drink, we need it for our grass and animals. People can make a lot of things including money but they cannot produce rain.”
On Monday Landman said Komani received 20mm of rain while his farm received only 5mm.
“ The farm nearest to us which is Kalkfontein only received 2mm.This is because the town is nearer to the mountains. Bonkolo dam also receives more rain because it is surrounded by mountains. We our still hoping for more general wide spread rain. Normally February is our highest rainfall month in Komani when hopefully the dams will fill up.”
